The hot-rolled steel plate production process can be divided into five core steps:
1. Heating: The steel slab is heated to 1100-1250°C (depending on the steel grade) to reach its plastic deformation temperature.
2. Rough Rolling: The steel slab is rolled to an intermediate thickness in a high-pressure rolling mill to eliminate defects such as internal pores.
3. Finishing Rolling: Multiple passes are performed at 800-900°C, achieving a final thickness accuracy of ±0.1mm.
4. Cooling: Laminar flow or water mist cooling is used; the cooling rate affects the final mechanical properties.
5. Coiling and Cutting: The steel is either coiled or cut into flat sheets as needed. Typical coil weights range from 10 to 30 tons.
